Grey has almost run out of options. He has tried everything, from giving her rewards to just plain forcing Haven to go to school, to learn about the different symbols.

But Haven wants to be independent and would rather do anything but learn about stupid symbols.

Ever since she was a child it was her dream to receive the eye symbol and go into politics, where she would abolish the symbols for good and create a new Community.

But that dream shatters when she receives the most unwanted symbol on her 17th birthday.
