The year is 1921, the Prohibition Act has just been passed. But that doesn't mean anything to the Chicago mafia run by the one and only Al Capone.
Capone's young right hand man Vincenzo "Vinnie" Battaglia is well on his way to the top. He enjoys the fast life style that the speakeasies offer from the alcohol to the rebellious young girls that frequent the joints. But none of this intrigues him like the soft spoken Sicilian girl that works at her family owned bakery.
Elisabetta Ferriola is the youngest daughter of Sicilian immigrants. She's the definition of an old school girl from the way she dresses to her virtues. Her father wants nothing more than for her to marry the grocer from around the corner, but maybe Elisabetta is being drawn into the fast paced lifestyle that she was shielded away from.
