Humans have warred with the Wilder for two-and-a-half million years. They have tried to control it, almost wiped it out, and squished it beneath their boots several times over. The thing is, the Wilder doesn't want to die. It won't. It's survived ice ages, super-volcanoes and even asteroid strikes. It's not going to let some measly, hairless apes be the end of it. So it's evolved. It's fought back. Every time humans have tried to get rid of it, it's come back ten times stronger.
And finally, it's winning the war.

Echo, Lan, Song and Aeryn are all just trying to figure out how to survive in a world so hostile to humans. They haven't had much experience- none of them have been alive for more than eighteen years. Some of them haven't had anyone to teach them how to navigate all the deadly predators and, you know, not put the toxic stuff in their mouths.
Echo hasn't talked to anyone for six years. Lan is clumsy as hell when he's around new people. Song is about as social as a crocodile. And Aeryn-
Well, Aeryn's just Aeryn.
This can only go well.
~~~~~
Just so you all know, this is not intended to be a romance or sexual story. It is purely meant to be Y/A sci-fi/dystopia type stuff. There will be a little romance probably, but nothing super important or major.
Possible trigger warnings: some swearing and violence, deaths (later, haven't quite written these bits yet). Nothing graphic. There is some romance but nothing sexual.
Mankind devoured - BOOK 1 by LoganDavies9
21 parts Complete Mature
Hello, Logan here. It is 2021, and this is the first book that I ever wrote. It's shit. I'm publishing it back on Wattpad again so my friend can read it. It is unedited and as I left it in 2017. I am currently published with three books out, and this is so funny to look back on. Enjoy reading my shittest work to date. Lots and lots of love, Logan Beadnell-Davies The overarching theme for this first book is a theme of rage and hatred. In the words of a great philosopher; there is no limit to the gruesome and grotesque things we are willing to do in the name of survival. While reading this; Remember that not everything is as it seems. Remember that loved characters will die. Remember that the world will gradually get worse as the parts go on. Take a moment to ask yourselves these questions: What would you do in the name of survival? Would you steal to survive? Would you kill to survive? Would you lose your mind to survive? If you lost your mind, do you think you'd kill more, steal, injure, backstab, rape or any other atrocity you can think of? If you can think of it, then maybe you would. The characters and situations in this book are very real, if gore or horrific mental images scare you, then I wouldn't recommend reading far. DESCRIPTION: The Infection claimed the lives of over 3 billion people before the TV's went off. But it would claim many more. The problem didn't arise when those people got up and started walking again, or even when they started eating and infecting others, it began when people got desperate. In this new world, the true evil that humans are capable of gradually becomes more apparent, and a part of everyday life. Normality doesn't exist, people don't help other people. Friends aren't a thing anymore. All anyone truly has is themselves, and the burdens they carry.
As the plague spreads further throughout the northern realm of Raylinette, guards pile corpses ever higher under the burning flames and citizens rage through the streets willing to do almost anything to stay alive. The plague is getting stronger. Zombies are supposed to be vulnerable to fire, but they are lasting increasingly longer. The Prime Minister has died leaving the Princess Qélla Darkstar in charge, but struggling between her duties, a profound sense of failure, and the desire to hide her demonic identity, she lets her indifference seduce her into inaction. When Time Master Chess Delvingson arrives determined to stop the demonic power behind the disease, Qélla feels increasingly pressured to do something even as she is more afraid of her secrets being revealed, for the Delvingsons are what Qélla calls faithful--that is, they are good Paladins responsible for guarding against evil. Evil like her. Chess Delvingson has left behind his own time and with it, a dark power closer to his heart than he would ever realize. Chess's android, Sera, has foretold that the apocalypse is only a few years away. Even in Qélla's time, no one knows who brought the apocalypse. But, they know the Dark Sword of Amorithia, a demonic blade that sucks the soul from anyone defeated by it including those who wield it, all except for the one person that will bring the apocalypse, will have a role. Chess is powerless to stop what is coming. It is inevitable, but he believes there is a reason he has been sent to the future to save Raylinette from its plague. ---- This story may contain dark themes and violence.
While in a strange facility, the "experiments" soon realize that they are being tested with some sort of competition to find out who's the strongest of them all. They realize that if you fail to complete a challenge, you're destined for death's embrace. Seeking escape, all thirty "experiments" try to work with each other to find a way out and be free once and for all and regain their lost memories. Question is, will they manage to accomplish their goal, or be trapped---dead or alive---forever? __________________________________________________________________________________ NOTE (please read this): -This AU is mainly inspired by @miraarosexx's story, "Down The Hall." I highly recommend you go read that story, it's amazing lmao. -The characters are humanized. -This AU will contain gore and other triggering stuff. -All the characters that are listed as "experiments" (aka the BFDI cast) are owned by jacknjellify, not me. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)
