The phrases 'most prestigious boarding school in Italy' and 'crime scene' had never occurred naturally in the same sentence before. Until now.
While the now affectionately nicknamed 'slaughter school' struggles to keep its head-and reputation-above water, a bewildered and harrowed group of students seek temporary refuge in an abandoned hostel building, having nowhere else to go. Unexpected friendships are made in the midst of chaos, as are mortal enemies.
Maro has always fantasized about solving a murder, Poirot style. Of course, in his head he was investigating deaths of strangers in mystery locations, not best friends.
Mourning and murder have never gone well together, and they sure as hell are not about to start now.
Loosely based off of 'Only Murders in the Building'.

Rose and Swan is a highly religious boarding school nestled deep in the mountains. It's the perfect place to hide, but Edward is about to find out you can't hide from yourself. He had no problem hiding his sexuality, not until Piers Gaveston, his new roommate, shows up. Based loosely on Kit Marlowe's play 'Edward II'. Feels like a teen rom-com. I wrote this as the book I wished I'd had as a teenager, that is to say I wanted it to be a sort of comforting, relatable world, as well as genuinely fun. That said it does follow the basic plot of the play so there are some unsettling scenes. Namely Chapters: 15, and 23 on. (If you think the cover is too gay I assure you it's what Marlowe would have wanted. If you think the book is too gay I PROMISE you, it's what Marlowe would have wanted). Trigger/Content Warning: some graphic violence that may be disturbing to some readers (chapters 21--on, Epilogue is fine). Some teenage sexuality (teenagers kiss, it is implied teenagers have sex, chapter 19 primarily, but all scenes are PG-13 level sensuality). Brief teenage level crude humor. Self harm is discussed throughout (worst depiction in chapter 14). Conversion therapy discussed at length and briefly depicted (Chapter 15). A character suffers from gender dyphoria and is dead-named on page (chapter 20). Graphic violence/torture after Chapter 21. They try to solve the mystery of the death of the popular teen icons of the school, Emma and Amber, who strangely happened to be common friends of all the four teens who were quite different from each other. Detective Bones is sure that one of them committed the murder. Every time, they go close to finding the truth, a revelation or clue leads them to reconsider their conclusion.
