The Last Oath: The Decline and Fall
What happens when narration becomes magic and monsters become stories? When meaning crumbles beneath the whispers of tales, and certainties drown in the din of words, truth wears a thousand faces at the windows of night. Survive. When the untold fades, and the unseen is lost. Endure. As kingdoms fall and life ebbs away, as souls awaken only to cage themselves within the lines of pages. Fight. A Guardian
"The world around her swam with mottled light. How long had she been fighting?" So...in sixth grade we took this computer-skills class. Our final test was to write a short story in Microsoft Word. My story ended up fleshing out into the trilogy I am working on and planning to publish at somepoint in my life, but I realized how incredible my writing skill has improved between just the two or three years. In the fantastical kingdom of Adrith, the King employs individuals into being his royal guards called: The Guardsmen. This adventure follows a group of new guardsmen that must power through a variety overwhelming challenges, deaths, and battles between demons both within and externally. Dark themes and morals will rise up and test the bounds of what they are capable of. Note: I have drawn inspiration and ideas from a variety of sources. While some parts are a lot more obvious than others, I drew inspiration from: Attack on Titan, Bleach, Naruto, Hitman Reborn, HunterxHunter, Blood-C, Kuroko's Basketball, Undertale, and The Legend of Korra. "Why are you following me?" She asks annoyed. "I have not been following you." I find myself responding. The girl states, "Yes you have. Don't lie and answer my question." "Okay, fine. You remind me of someone and I was wondering if you could help me." The girl studies me for a moment. I wonder what she will say. This girl seems very annoyed and threatening. In our world, We have a simple life, To people go to school, working on their jobs and having a company and so on and so forth. And the evolution of our planet earth kept on evolving.....but...have you ever wondered? When you where a kid you always thought that there's superheroes in our world that can fly and shoot lasers out of they're eyes. But that's just a fictional. Heck monsters and Giants are nothing but folklore and story's, They're just made up. There is no such thing as a zombie, ghost or even flowers that can talk or trolls walking around in the dark woods. Or even mythical creatures such as griffins, unicorns, mermaids, dragons ect. They aren't real, they are just stories and fantasy and nothing else....they are nothing else but a myth. But....What if.. What if...it wasn't? But instead it came from another world. And that world is what you have dreamed off, and not just one... millions of different world's and different possibility, a cartoonish world to dragon's and wizards. Or just straight up similar to our planet but without the letter H. These are called.... Dimensions. In a land full of magic, only the chosen few can be considered for the mysterious depths of the dungeon. For those who seek fame, fortune and an endless urge of adventure must steal their resolve. Thus, multiple guilds were formed to increase the risk and gain a mountain of rewards. [I made this story for a fallen brother of mine. Having him gone was and is still something unexpected so I named the main character after him. Rest in power Lil bro. Gone but not forgotten.]
Tea Time and Cookies: A (not so) Quiet Beginning
Life ended quietly. Rebirth? Not so much. I'd lived a perfectly normal nerd-life: a family, a career, too many hobbies, and a purse full of "just-in-case" items. Gardening, old crafting techniques, reading, manga, animé-especially the alternate-world kind. If I had one regret, it was not traveling as much as I'd wanted. But all things end eventually. I expected nothingness... or whatever reward awaited after a long, fulfilling life. Instead, I woke up to the very real problem of a massive creature trying to eat me. I'd been reborn into another world. I should have been thrilled, right? With very little to go on-aside from the fact that magic existed here-I decided the smartest approach was to keep a low profile and train like crazy. Survive first. Explore later. My new family seemed pleasantly surprised (and occasionally alarmed) by my dedication to both physical and magical training. And once I started attending school, I made fast friends... then accidentally convinced them to apprentice under my father. The more the merrier, I figured. But hiding my abilities is proving harder than expected, and the more I grow, the more certain people seem unsettled by my existence. Surviving to adulthood may be the real challenge. *This is a slow-burn, coming-of-age story with early magic training.
