When a goddess who was deeply loved within her people's hearts sank into an eternal hatred, the world had to pay the price of utter destruction. Thus, her worshippers must suffer for generations in exile and loneliness without their deity to ease their pain.

Amongst them was little Ren, a playful, gentle and sweet fox, facing the world with a smile and a sparkling pair of eyes. Yet, the wounded world answered him with its cold glare. No kindness has ever reached back to him. Not a single smile has ever responded to his.

But amongst those bitter gazes, there lay a pair of gentle ones. Through the harshness of others, their malice, rejection and distrust, he met his first friend: a girl as lonely as him, a girl that opened his eyes to see the world as... beautiful.

But in one eventful day, she vanished without a trace, leaving Ren to face the world alone once more.

As time passed, he made a promise to himself, a promise that is embedded in the core of his heart, a promise that he'll fulfill no matter what.
