You Are in Love

When Christian is left with no trace of his ex-fiancée other than the note she'd left behind for him the day they were supposed to get married and being stuck working for her dad still, he's come to the conclusion his entire life is one big joke. That's the way it's always been. Gets chosen as captain for his high school soccer team? Benched the entire season after breaking his leg in a car accident. Gets his dream job? Is stuck working for an asshole who can't remember his name. Get's engaged to the girl of his dreams? Get's left at the alter the day of their wedding. Life's funny, he has to think.

You know who doesn't think life's funny? Veronica. After three years working for a magazine she'd been reading since she was fifteen, she still hasn't realized they don't recognize just what type of work she could be doing. She'd busted her ass off in college for a journalist degree and now is stuck taking pictures of weddings and writing articles about the What's-Hot-What's-Not columns. She's looked over and under-appreciated and hasn't figured out she can do better. How funny is it to get something, everything, you wanted and have it turned into something you dread.

But no one understands her. Not until Veronica meets Christian, someone else down on their luck. When they meet, after the circumstances and failure of his supposed-to-be wedding, their unlikely friendship only further proves life's twisted sense of humor: just when you've found everything you wanted, it gets morphed into everything you don't need.
