Hermione Granger had it all. Head Auror, respected in her field, a life finally falling into order after years of chaos. But as fate often does, it wasn't long before things took a turn. Her latest case, a dark one, had her entrenched in the deepest shadows of wizarding society. And as if the world hadn't thrown enough at her, she found herself face-to-face with a ghost from her past-Draco Malfoy.
There he was, swaggering around a corner, blonde hair gleaming under the dim light, that infuriating Slytherin smirk plastered on his face. Hermione could hardly believe it. After all these years, she'd assumed he was gone from her life, buried in the rubble of the past. But Draco Malfoy was back-and, as always, trouble followed him like a shadow.
The Malfoys, once pillars of high society, had been crushed under the weight of scandal. Their reputation in ruins, the Daily Prophet never let them forget it. The whispers of betrayal, darkness, and questionable allegiances followed them everywhere. But now Draco, driven by a desperate need to restore his family's name, was scrambling for a chance to redeem them.
Rumours had begun circulating about the Malfoys' involvement with dark forces-perhaps even a return to the Dark Arts.
The Ministry was buzzing with the whispers, and Hermione Granger, now tasked with investigating the rise of dark magic, found herself reluctantly pulled into the heart of it all. But little did she know, this investigation would soon intertwine her fate with Draco's in ways she never could have imagined.
"It's warmer where you are and safer by your side."
Four years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter are now happily engaged and working at the Ministry of Magic as an Auror and Healer. Living in muggle London, not too far from Hermione and Ron who were now married, their lives were finally working for the better and they couldn't be happier.
But, even after four years, Harry still deals with the guilt that comes along with all those he cared about dying that day at Hogwarts. Not to mention, Draco's refusal to talk about it with him. They both suffer trauma from the war and while working out details for their wedding, working at the Ministry, and the looming thoughts about Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy living back in Malfoy Manor, things cause more trouble than wanted.
