Rafe Cameron is psychotic and his poor actions result from his drug addiction and pressure from his controlling father. Scarlett Maybank arrives back into town after 10 long years, to visit her cousin. Upon her first encounter with Rafe since being back in town, he shows her no special treatment. Rafe treats her poorly just like anyone else. But Scarlett sees something in Rafe that nobody else does. She sees a scared boy who just needs help. Scarlett doesn't know why nobody has tried to help him yet. Nobody believes that Rafe is redeemable after the sins he has committed. Scarlett believes otherwise. The two grow quite close upon their unusual quests and they find themselves fighting off undeniable feelings for one another. Scarlett believes that she can be the one exception, the only one who Rafe won't hurt. The only one who Rafe truly care's about. This is all put to the test when Rafe has to make a choice.
