Eli Kist is a young boy working out gender and sexuality. Life has been hard for him, but surely the hardest part is over, right? Right. Nothing can be worse than getting bullied and beaten daily.
Eli, when young, had a group of friends. Slowly though, over the years the group of friends had split up. Eli meets one of the kids who he used to hang out with. They begin to hang out again. Eli slowly remembers why he'd stopped hanging out with that group. Some had gone to some place better and some had been bullies and some has been not who they had claimed to be.
What happens when Eli falls in love with his childhood friend?
What happens when Eli is left as school late?
What happens this Halloween?

ORION GRAVES has always been on top. A straight-A, high honors student. Top of his class on the path to valedictorian and an Ivy League school. Until suddenly, that all changes. Orion was outed as transgender at his old school, and became victim to relentless harassment. Not to mention that in June of his junior year, his mother lost her battle with cancer. Now, he must move in with his father-whom he hasn't seen since his parent's divorce when he was 8. Moving all the way from Red, California to Lakeview, Maine, he has to start from the very beginning. But, as he starts his senior year in a brand-new school he's quick to learn that it's not going to be easy to get back on top, nor keep his head down and stay under the radar like old times. Because there's Caleb. CALEB MITCHELL, the star child of Lakeview. Honored for being so well-rounded he probably shouldn't get too close to a hill. Not only that, but he's nice. And funny. And surprisingly good-looking. And Orion's new best friend. But Caleb's lost someone too, and is struggling just as much; this perfect kid suddenly not so perfect anymore. He's got his own demons, and pressures, and a heavy depression holding him back. And yet, through these shared struggles, their friendship somehow manages to blossom into something so much more sacred. ---------- Cover and story by me, @devenwrites Official Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2XONF7xeRhcFwDBWpbxmsB?si=7s4Whhq-RlewQIiya3UwQw

Once Caleb reached the bottom of the stairs he quietly opened the door and tiredly switched on the light "Jayden it isn't morning yet buddy you need to-" he froze in place staring at a man he didn't know standing in his living room. The man stared back at him like a deer in the headlights, he looked a few years older than Caleb, had stubble growing around his face, dark brown greasy hair that wasn't styled in any particular way and was wearing full black aside from the muddy navy blue trainers he was sporting. "Who the fuck are you and what are you doing here?" Caleb demanded in a hushed whisper, he also noticed the black backpack the stranger was carrying and the open living room window he'd clearly used to gain entry, the vase that was previously rested on the windowsill lay in pieces on the ground, that must've been the crash that had awoken Caleb from his tranquil slumber. "Just a passerby, no one much" the strange man whispered back an air of mystery hanging about his every word. "Inside my living room?" Caleb replied folding his arms and sizing the man up, after his beating earlier in the evening he wasn't exactly fighting fit, the intruder was also taller and muscly, there's no way Caleb would win if it came to a fight. "Consider me Santa Claus alright? Now go back to bed kid" the man answered calmly pointing at the door as if Caleb was a child. "I'm not a little kid anymore, I'm 18. Santa isn't real" Caleb responded harshly taking a step forward, the man noticeably took a step towards the window eyeing Caleb up with a smirk. "I push him off me, making him stand on his own. But, Colton pushes me against a wall. 'Jax,' He sighs. Colton leans forward, his lips approaching mine. Soon, Colton kissed me with so much power that my head hit the wall behind me. I was stunned, and pushed him off me. 'Co-Mr. Haynes, we can't do this,' I tell him. He laughs, and leans against me. 'I like it when you call me Mr. Haynes. It's sexy,' he whispers the last part into my ear." ~~~ Jax was spending a casual night at the club, when he met the most handsome man in his life. He felt a spark, an instant connection. Or, maybe that was the beer talking. One week later, Jax was not looking forward to his last year in high school. He thought it couldn't get any worse than his horrible and abusive father, and his mother leaving that summer. But, he got to be reunited with his boyfriend, Rhett. But, Rhett becomes controlling. Abusive. And his former friend Zander will do anything to date him- even blackmail. That was when Jax thought his year couldn't get any worse. That is, until he met his music teacher, Mr. Haynes. The same man he slept with not so long ago. To make matters worse, he discovers he has a half brother named Ash, who is suddenly dumped on him and his father. Will Jax be able to make it through the year with Rhett, Mr. Haynes, Zander, his father, and even Ash seemingly going after him? Eli Ackermann has always lived a very normal and boring life despite the fact he's always stood out, different for all the wrong reasons. Jewish, mentally ill and a bit too close with his friend Peter Printz for society's comfort, he's been an outcast since Hitler came to power in the 30s. As the years pass and the political situation in Germany worsens, Eli and Peter grow more involved in underground resistance groups to the Nazis where people like them are not outcasts anymore, but are welcomed with open arms. But war looms on the horizon and more and more of their friends are disappearing and never returning. A new struggle lies around every corner.
