When April Gryna was four years old she made a deal with Death to save her dying, sick sister's life. But April is sure she isn't right for the job - the shy, peacekeeping young woman can't bear the thought of submitting and overviewing death, never mind the strange prejudice because April is the first woman Goddess of Death. Now on a quest to find Xothnto Mortem - the real God of Death that had gone missing five hundred thousand years ago, April's time is running out. Something is hunting her - something that doesn't want her as Queen of the Underworld anymore than she and will stop at nothing to kill her soul.
