Jake has it rough.
There's not really any other way of putting it.
He's constantly made fun of and beaten up by bullies, and the fact that Jake is the shortest and weakest kid in the class doesn't help anything either.
But even those who feel helpless have dreams, and when the new girl, Miley, walks in, she becomes his dream.
Not only was she sweet, pretty, and energetic (upon getting to know her), she understands Jake and his struggles, and is always open to listen to him.
However, Miley and her family are on the run.
Miley's biological parents were part of an experiment that caused Miley to be different from the average kid. She hoards secrets that cause her to keep her distance from those around her. Upon meeting Jake, she may just realize that it isn't so bad to trust a few good people with her true self and feelings.
This is how the path of these two children crossed, and how they both learned to love themselves.
This is their story.
Set in 1998.

23 parts Complete

When twins Skylar and Jake were born, their scientist parents used them as an experiment. Each was injected with a dose of serum that would supposedly make them much stronger, smarter, simply better than other kids. But somebody added a chemical that changed the effects of the serum. As a result each twin got only half of the traits they were originally supposed to get. Skylar got the strength and speed while Jake got the brains. When they realized what had happened, the twins' parents immediately put them up for adoption, so neither one knew of the other. 12 years later Skylar is constantly failing all her classes, and Jake is getting bullied because he is so much weaker than other kids. But then Skylar's adoptive family decides to move across the country to find a new school for their daughter, which happens to be the school Jake goes to. They meet completely by accident. In the meantime, their parents have found a way to fix their mistake from 12 years ago -- they can make one of the twins perfect. But it requires for the other twin to give their life.
