Isamu Nakajima is a 14-year-old girl who went through a traumatizing event at a younger age but still manages to smile through the pain and suffering she'd been so unfortunate to endure.

She decides to take the hunter exam with her childhood best friend Gon Freecs for an opaque reason she keeps concealed from others. At the exams, she meets an interesting white-haired boy who quickly catches her interest, and she finds that his name is Killua Zoldyck.

Killua turns out to be a fundamental piece in Isamu's life that she'd felt as if she was always missing. He could easily bring a smile to her face and warm her heart with his kindness, and Isamu came to realize that she felt whole again when she was around him. But she was still chasing the dream of becoming a hunter and slowly drowning in the reason why she picked that path.

Will the girl be able to achieve her dream to become a hunter, or will it be another thing she fails to do? 

On the way to her journey will she also catch feelings for the white-haired boy?
