Devon Dursley despised her parents, as their hatred for the wizarding world was all they could ever talk about.

She was spoilt rotten, there's no doubt about that, just like her twin brother Dudley, but she never asked for anything, other than time to be driven to the local library so she could read to her hearts content. 

She read everything from true crime novels to fairy tales, encyclopaedias to poetry and everything in between.

Never in her wildest dreams did she wonder what it would be like to be a part of a story filled with wizards and witches and magical creatures, as her life was too predictable for that.
