The Husband of the Priestess

Sharlise, daughter and successor of the high priest Carlton Voten, has found her husband. Usually the gods show matrimony visions to the high priest who then conveys these messages to fated lovers; but Sharlise, true to her gifting and future position, has received instructions regarding her married life directly from the gods. Her father is quite proud of her accomplishments. Everyone who she speaks to believes her, except when she voices her lack of attraction and desire for the lucky guy. Why does everyone believe her visions but not her heart? Does Sharlise really dislike the man the gods have given to her, or is she in denial of what her heart wants?
