She sighed and inhaled the cold air of the dark room, snuggling under her covers. The only light illuminating the room was the light from the TV. Everything was going smoothly, until she heard footsteps approaching from the hallway leading to her room. Her room was at the extreme of the hallway. The footsteps stopped right in front of her door-- then a knock on the door could be heard. "Ani" she heard a voice from outside call That was the day Her life changed forever. If she had known how things would turn out, she never would have opened the door for her drunk father to get in. "Come here darling" he had said in a gruff tone and she made her way towards him and rested my hand on his shoulder. A move she regretted her whole life. It felt like her world came crashing down as he did the unthinkable. She had so many sleepless nights due to that worst night of her life.
