"Oh Lily, you really are amazing, you know that?" Lily sighed, same old James he was probably going to ask her out again in 3... 2... 1.... and... Nothing.

Huh, she thought to herself, maybe he really has changed. James looked back at Lily and grinned, she quickly looked away and his face fell. 

I need to get her out of my head, he thought, she doesn't like me anymore, end of. No point in going after a girl who hates you anymore, who knows how much time we all have left.

The door opened, and they both looked up. Prefects started filling the room, ready to start the new school year. Lily smiled professionally and James mimicked her, greeting and congratulating the other students. 

Before Lily started to speak, she took a last glance at James. He smiled slightly, his small dimples made him look so innocent and adorable. She breathed in and looked down at the paper in front of her, one thought protruding out from the rest,

In their final year at Hogwarts, Voldemort is on the rise, luckily though, Hogwarts is still safe... mostly.
