If anyone had told Midoriya Izuku that the worst day of his life would end in Kacchan dying and his love for heroes dying with him, he wouldn't have believed them. Then again, he wouldn't have believed them if they told him anything about that day from almost dying twice after being suicided baited by Kacchan to having his dreams crushed by All Might a rooftop.

Hell, Izuku wouldn't even have believed them if they told him after Kacchan's accident, that the Hero Commission would make his mom and the Bakugo's lives hell and drain them dry of money.

He wouldn't believe anyone who told him that one dropped notebook would result in him being mistaken as dead, almost everything he was erased, and enslaved by villains.

Yet, here he was with a new life, playing a dangerous game because of one horrific day.All Rights Reserved

Of course, the work and how the school works would be different, but he hoped the people there would be different, too. Mostly because he had a quirk now. He wasn't useless anymore and he was definitely not quirkless anymore. In all honesty, Midoriya didn't expect all the kindness he was receiving from his peers and teachers. Surely, the teachers knew he was quirkless beforehand, right? If they knew.. then why didn't they hate him? Besides All Might, he expected them to dislike him. (Midoriya only thought All Might cared because he used to be quirkless too.. but it was better than nothing.) However, with his friends, he was happier. He didn't even know how to act around friends, but he tried.. Even if deep down Midoriya knew he couldn't trust anybody-- And he didnt trust anybody-- he still tried. Oh well, why didn't he trust them? Simple. He had the mindset that, 'If they knew he was quirkless, it would be middle school all over again.' He was protecting himself, just in case they found out. If they found out and stopped being friends with him, well it would be okay. He was prepared. He had to be. So, in the end, he didn't tell anybody about his old quirkless ways. Not that he had to tell anybody, right? He had a quirk, so it shouldn't matter anymore, right? Wrong. Who says the bullying and its effects ever go away? How would he ever be able to explain the messages he gets during the day from old classmates? Midoriya Izuku was ambitious. He always pushed until he fell. He never gave up, not once did he fall and stay down. Not even when his idol told him that his dream was illogical--that in reality he will only get in the way. So he made a set of recordings and set up an anonymous channel. He approached many people and asked them variants of the same question: "Can a quirkless person become a hero?" No matter the answer though, he was broken inside. His dreams and hopes were shattered a long time ago. But he isn't ready to take a swan dive just yet. He wants to meet one person who will tell him that he is not useless. That he can be a hero. And after that moment, he will decide if he's ready to take a swan dive off the roof of a building or not. Some of the chapters will be quite triggering. Summary; At the age of 23 the heroes Deku and Dynamight are on a mission together when feelings come out, messy and sloppy, terrible confessions later hurt and angry they turn away because of their inability to communicate with each other. It goes so far that Deku can not even bring himself to call him Kacchan any more, now calling him Bakugo much to the confusion and concern of their friends and coworkers. Everything changes though when as usual Deku doesn't think and moves, his need to save Kacchan, his Kacchan, driving any and all other thoughts from him, he dies in Bakugo's arms. Hours passed but Bakugo can't move from that spot, on his knees he just holds Deku's limp, lifeless body in his arms. Deku's last words repeating themselves over and over in his head. Tear tracks could be seen by anyone who dared to look at the broken hero in his grief. Suddenly time seems to stop, when he looks up he sees rain floating as if frozen in time, a woman shrouded in a green hood stands in front of him, most of her face covered by her hood, he could only see her mouth and chin. "Do we have a deal, Hero?" She asked her voice closer to bells than that of a woman's. "I have a condition, I can't ever see him die again. Give me his injury and let him live," Bakugo's words hung in the air and a clap of thunder rang in air when before there was none, there was now a flash of lightning above them, also frozen in place. "Deal."
