"Do you always come down here? Ive never seen you before." 12 year old Sage asks
"Do you always have something to say?" 13 year old Harry throws back
He doesn't necessarily mean to be rude, it's just all he knows. Social interaction is rare.
"I was just asking a question...." Sage trails off, shoving her bag of kiwis towards the boy
But, he doesn't take them. Instead, he reaches forward towards his bag and pulls out his MP3 player.
"Well some people don't always like to talk." he grumbles under his breath, popping in the ear buds.
Sage, growing impatient, takes one ear bud out.
"What was that for-" Harry says turning, but cuts himself off when he sees the girls face is inches away from his own.
With the missing ear bud in her own ear.
"Oh shut up. I just wanted a listen. Now would you like some or not?" She says, shoving the bag of kiwis in between the two.
And that became their normal.
Till one of them moved.
And normal was never the same.
Till one day.
