an AU where there's no soul society, aka, kinda boring. the two met at summer camp when they were children, well taking into account of their age gap while in the mortal world, it's like 6 years at least, so Byakuya is 12 and Renji is 6 at the begining.

After being attacked in the world of the living, Ichigo must try and find the culprit in the Soul Society. Update: It's finally finished. I really hope you enjoy this. This story has meant so much to me, as does the show and the characters. It's given me a renewed interested in fandom, and writing again. To anyone who has read this. Thank you. They were close but Ichigo moved closer. He was still holding Byakuya's arm, but now he was chest to chest with him. He felt his heart pounding in his chest and his stomach was in knots and all of these feelings and doubts were abrupt and dangerous and he felt the thrill of it all sing in his heart. He leaned closer and whispered quietly in to his ear. "What do I do when I'm afraid, Byakuya?" Byakuya must have sensed the change in the air. He grew still and answered as best he could. "You fight," he whispered back, unsure of what was happening. Ichigo moved slightly, back into Byakuya's line of sight. The Captain of the 6th Squad almost moved a step back, as he had seen that look on Ichigo's face before; a sword held in his hand and a desperate need to fight. It was almost feral and it was certainly dangerous and Byakuya held his ground. "Damn right I do." Ichigo moved suddenly, lips suddenly crushing Byakuya's and the Captain was almost too stunned to move. Death followed Ichigo with a near obsessive persistence. Though, she was partially at fault for about six years of her life. She chose to become a demon slayer after all. But, death still persisted to be her curse. Her mother died and she lost her father to grief. She met Nēsan and found love in her and her family... until her parents were killed by demons right in front of them. They were saved by Himejima-san before they could be killed and their paths were set in stone. They became demon slayers, Ichigo taking a new name and becoming Kochō Shinobu to protect her own family. Things looked better, until Kanae is killed by that fucking demon. Ichigo swears revenge and takes on the duties of the Head of the Butterfly Estate as well as Insect Hashira. Every one of her Tsuguko except for Kanao had been killed, the families of her girls, and every demon slayer she failed to save from their injuries. She was furious. And then the battle against Kibitsuji Muzan and his Demon Moons. She was determined to kill the bastard who killed Nēsan. Even if she killed herself in the process. Yet, she survives the impossible and now, everything is over. They won. Unfortunately, her job isn't done just yet. - A KNY/Bleach Crossover (thrice again), but Ichigo is Kochō Shinobu and she has to deal with the side effects of the victorious war against the demons while being forced into the hurricane of Shinigami, another war looming over her, and the Soul Society being idiots. This is the third installment of a planned, 18 part series. I have decided (stupidly and incredibly stressfully) to create a story for each breathing style (and one for demon, kakushi, Ubuyashiki, and swordsmith) where Ichigo is a demon slayer of each breathing style.
