There were a lot of things unknown to me, a lot of lies told, it's a part of life. I never thought it would get my parents killed.
I never thought I'd believe in vampires or that they would kill my parents. That my sister and I would have to be protected by a group of strangers.

BOOK ONE: Having enough courage to run through the woods and away from the people who convinced me they were saving me was not how I believed I'd spend my day.
