Zoey Moore, a 17-year-old mage, has been entrusted with a magical amulet and told to keep the peace in her small town. Because when you live in a country on the brink of revolution, staying under the radar was essential, and when magic became illegal, she didn't stop pushing. But when the King catches wind of her illicit activities, and the amulet stops working just as a huge fight breaks out, everything she's done the past few years is put at risk. So she'll have to journey across the country, share her most hidden secrets, and face her darkest fears, to get the amulet's core before her enemies get to her.
An introverted mage, a dutiful daughter, a sarcastic criminal, and a cunning servant must work together to survive the dark nights, escape the palace guards, uncover hidden truths, and find the core before it's too late.
