In a world where humans and demons have long been tangled in a deep-rooted conflict and skepticism towards each other, Wei Wuxian - a child born from an unheard union of the two races, an anomaly to the world - was forced to live on the streets after the sudden, unfortunate death of his parents. As fate would allow it, he encountered Lan Wangji, beloved and renowned second young master of the prominent Gusu Lan Sect, one of the most respected cultivational sects among the humans. He received a memento from him, yet their meeting was cut short without the two young children even exchanging a single word before they were separated.

Years passed and Wei Wuxian, now a young master to the Jiang Family of Yunmeng who saved him from a life as a tramp, was tasked with a mission to investigate the root of conflict between the humans and demons. He departed with his shidi, Jiang Cheng, to remote mountain where they were supposed to search for clues together.

And it was in this isolated region that he was unexpectedly reunited with the person from his memories.

Wei Wuxian arrived for guest lectures to the Cloud Recesses. However, Lan Wangji quickly notices, that there is something strange about the Yunmeng Jiang sect head disciple. He does not act like rumour describe him. And most importantly, he does not act the same as he had done in the past. Moreover, there are strange visions that Lan Wangji gets when he is close to Wei Wuxian. Just what is going on? OR Wei Wuxian travelled back to the past. He does not remember anything and does not want to get close to Lan Wangji. What will Lan Wangji do? This work is inspired by request from Olivia Hawkins: "A time travel fic after Guanyin Temple where WWX uses MXY's golden core to travel all the way back before he went to the Cloud Recesses and he takes this pill that prevents him from falling in love. Every time LWJ is near WWX, he has visions of the events that occurred later in the novel such as the Cloud Recesses burning, WWX giving his golden core to JC, WWX being thrown into burial mounds and WWX becoming the YP. He approaches WWX this time and hopes that he can protect him but is rejected constantly. So he summons most of the cultivation world to tell them about the visions he had seen." This fic will contain themes and mentions that may be triggering, please read the warnings and tags I used and proceed at you own discretion. English is not my first language so I apologise in advance for any mistakes. I am also not very familiar with Chinese culture, customs nor naming conventions so this work may in some places not be 100% accurate. I do not own any characters I have used in my story, this is purely a work of fan fiction. Hope you will enjoy reading :)

Come Back to Gusu

60 parts Complete Mature

Wen RuoHan is defeated and Wei WuXian lies in the courtyard of the Fire Palace as if dead. The Healers can't detect his Golden Core because of the mass of resentful energy swirling through his dantians and meridians. In an effort to save his life, Lan WangJi begs the Jiang siblings to allow him to take Wei WuXian back to Gusu. Reluctantly, they agree; the tranquility of Cloud Recesses will aid his healing far more than working to restore Lotus Pier will. Wei WuXian is not so sure that being GusuLan's prisoner is the better choice. He wished they'd just get on with the trial and execution instead of these ineffective attempts to Heal him. ~*~ This is a mature fiction. Not suitable for children. I will be using sexually explicit language and descriptions. This is the only warning I'll give.
