Prince Noctis of Insomnia is headed to Altissia to meet his bride Lunafreya accompanied by his Kingsguard and closest friends: Gladiolus Amiticia, Prompto Argentum, Ignis Scientia and Chrysanthem Aemulatora.  But only days into their trip, they learn Insomnia has fallen.  Struggling to adapt to this new reality, hunted by the Niflheim Empire, reticent to embrace his role as King, Noctis and his companions uncover the mysteries of Eos, learning the true history of friend and foe alike.  Gladiolus will find his purpose as the Shield of his king while Prompto will uncover the truth of his past.  Ignis will sacrifice for his king, witnessed by the gods, and Chrysanthem will embrace a destiny she knows she cannot escape.  Through each step of the journey, Noctis will grow into the King he was meant to be, guarded by the most loyal companions on their star.

Nothing's ever been unique about them, not one has ever stood out from the rest. However, the urge to kill can't stop the blonde's desire for friendship. And, of course, Chocobos.
