George suffers from epilepsy which causes him to be bullied for that at school. After being humiliated in front of the whole school for being gay, the popular boy named Clay decides to stand up for him. 

Clay, suffering from diabetes with abusive and not supportive parents, does everything to help George get rid of the bullies while struggling a lot himself.

The two start getting closer and closer until Clay starts realising he's more similar to George than he expected to be, wanting to be closer to him every day. But will George trust him after what happened before?

Yet, it gets worse by the day as George quickly looses any hope left. When Clay is left traumatised by his past, he thinks nothing will bring back the same happiness he once felt, but when George moves into the farm he often visits, that same joy that was extinguished with the fire, sparks again... George is 17 and in his last year of high school when he gets terrible news. After having weird nosebleeds, strange bruises and a lot of dizziness, the doctors find out George has leukaemia. George's best friend, Clay, is there the whole day for George and as George fights his battle against leukaemia, Clay supports him in every way possible. He shaves his head too and is there with George in all of his chemos. He buys George his favourite beanies and even let someone make one for him. But doctors start to lose hope of George ever getting better and since there is no match for a stem cell transplantation, there is only one person left to help him. Only the chances of that working are even smaller. TW's: -Leukaemia (blood cancer) -Chemotherapy -Tube feeding -Throwing up

How does this random guy do this, calm him down all the time? What starts with just a small conversation ends in way more than ever expected. 'Why did you start talking to me?'
