The Maiden Voyage of Uttuman's Orb

The great Orb is as perfect as I could make it. Two inches of solid glass covers a pool of liquid inside. Transparent, save for a hint of azure-blue at its core, like blue cloud on ice. Next to it is a carefully modified sapphire on a necklace, the key to making the Orb work. I lift the heavy glass ball, bring it over to a carefully crafted board inlaid with silver in thin circles on the floor, and place it in the center hole.
