Tanjiro would carefully observe his father's breathing during his dancing. He also remembered the time his father had slain the bear to show him the spirit world. One day, he decided to practice. He learned how to do it and smiled. He started helping his father and the family never lived in poverty again, at least until his father died. He swore to never use the Hinokami Kagura, the dance of the fire god unless he absolutely had to, as it painfully reminded him of the time he spent with his father. He still practiced, of course. But one day, after returning from a trip to the village, his life changed forever.

It didn't take long for the Demon King to be pulverized by the sunlight. However, not everything is rosy, even in death. As Tanjiro disintegrated under the sun, Muzan injected all his remaining blood into Tanjiro's lifeless body. With his blood, Muzan implanted the phrase 'eliminate all demon hunters' into Tanjiro's mind. Tanjiro awakened without consciousness, driven solely by his Demon instincts, as his mind was no longer present. There were no more deaths, but the surviving Pillars had to sacrifice one of their arms and even their eyes to decapitate Tanjiro in his Demon form, thus bringing an end to his life. When Tanjiro opened his eyes, he found himself in a dark place, unable to see or smell anything. Remembering the battle against Muzan, he realized he was dead and sighed with relief, finally able to rest. It was at that moment...
