TW: This is not a story for the light hearted. This book will address some very mature themes, murder, cannibalism, kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome etc. Please take this as your first and only warning, if you do not think you can handle the contents of this book then please do not read it. This is an 18 plus story due to its graphic nature. "It's another perfect day in this sunny little town. Everyone has all gathered in the town square to watch Mayor Jon Black give his thank you speech. He was elected Mayor again, he's been the mayor for almost 30 years. He is standing up on the small stage, beside him are his wife and son. They are there to show their support, and to show everyone how happy they are. If you look close enough however, you can see Carol Black's eyes hold no joy, they are cold and empty. Her smile is not bright and cheerful, but forced and unforgiving. Archer Black stands tall and proud, but when you look into his eyes there's only pain and torment. If you look close enough at the small family, you see the cracks beginning to form. If only they knew what was to come."

Everyone she knew and cared about was murdered in a twisted idea of fun, she was the only survivor. Quickly dumped into a world of supernatural Aurora must find her place despite the fact a possessive werewolf seems to want to tell her what to do. Can she adjust or will she crumble under the pressure? Excerpt: The screams and cries for help faded while silent tears continued to stream down her face. Her hands were slapped over her mouth to muffle any noise that escaped her quivering lips. She wasn't sure how long she was in that pantry but couldn't come out until she was beyond certain that they had left. For a moment, she started to have hope that maybe they wouldn't be able to find her, but a voice spoke up, and fear flooded in once again. "You cleared out the upstairs, too, right?" "Yeah." Another voice responded. There was a slight pause, "Hmm. Then where is that heartbeat coming from, I wonder." His voice had a sickening amusement to it, and her heart rate uncontrollably spiked with the adrenaline pumped through her veins. Was he talking about her? The thought that he could hear her heartbeat was crazy. It just wasn't humanly possible. Footsteps grew closer to the kitchen. Somehow, they had found her. She said one last prayer and goodbye to her life as the pantry opened. "Boo." The man yelled, peering in at her. She was frozen. There was nothing more she could do. She was going to die. "Little Birdy," he stretched out his hand, "come out to play."
