The Earth was killed by our own kind, the scientists who didn't agree with how we were treating the environment. They've created a chemical that could make anyone disappear once and for all. The project has been going on for 4 years and was later found 2 days before the plan was executed, but everyone knew that it was too late to do anything. Fortunately for the scientists, their plan worked and everyone died, everyone except 4 random teenagers. No one expected them to survive, 4 teenagers who didn't even know each other and had no clue that they weren't the only ones alive.
