Between 2004 and 2008 I wrote a series of "Tips for Writers" for Nocturnal Ooze magazine vaguely about what would happen in real life if you did the things they do in movies but mostly about the gross out. I've always loved them and so have taken them out of mothballs for a new audience here on wattpad. They're all here except for #13 which seems to have vanished. I've also left them mostly intact except for a few very dated references that have been updated. Vampires aren't real. Are they? No, they can't be.

No one knows where IT came from. No one knows what IT even is. IT was found, already dead. But no. It was still breathing. And no one knew when it would awake. Lucius Walker, the detective, is put in charge of this case. He doesn't know what IT is. No one does. Some don't even know it even exists. He tries to figure it out before IT wakes up.

We walked down the cold wooden stairs down to the basement and dashed to the closet we had down there. I put a large cardboard box in front of me and put my ear to the vent so I could hear Laura counting.16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Ready or Not..... here I come. I heard her giggle and tried my best to stay quiet. So she wouldn't find me... That's how it used to be. We were so innocent just eight years old. A game that was so much fun. Now is a game, for life.
