"That's the last time I lose to you Sullivan."

Mike was angry. Every time he looked at Randall, he could only see two things; the eager, friendly face that had accompanied him through his first few months of college, and then the infuriating sneer that doused him with stuffed animals during one of his many greatest humiliations.

Why did Randall have to take it out on him? In the long run, it wasn't that big of a loss. Mike saw that now. He'd been through the same thing. If only Randall could see that, in those logistics, Mike was a friend and not an enemy. And it still felt like Randall's influence on his life, heavy as he first imagined, but not in the right direction, had left him scarred.

He wondered what it would have been like if Randall had made better decisions?
