The stars will sing

William Wisp, a young magician studying at the (ironically named) Will-o-wisp academy has been drifting through the school year, eager to solve mysteries and finding them in short supply. But recently, he's been looking into the strange disappearances that seem to happen every decade or so. When his teacher Mrs. Gilbert seemingly drops off the face of Kovomaka after announcing that she'd be going away for a while, he takes it upon himself to really sink his fingers into the meat of this mystery.

Little did he know, that his curiosity would land him in a world, or rather, several worlds, of trouble.

(This is a magical starsign au and it was either going to be this or bugsnax so. yeah. you dont need to know the game to read this. you do need to watch Just Roll With It Prime Defenders, less for story context and more because i say so.)
