A collection of poetry from a synesthete.
--------------------------------------------------
Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which information meant to stimulate one of your senses stimulates several of your senses. For example, a synesthete may hear a sound and say it's red, or they may smell apples and hear a whistle. There are two types of synesthetes: associative and projective. Associative synesthesia refers to when a synesthete associates information from a sense with information from another sense. The association is quick and automatic, the way one may associate a family member's face with their name. Projective synesthesia refers to when a synesthete directly experiences information from one sense when they experience information from another. For example, an associative synesthete may hear a piano and associate it strongly with the color yellow, while a projective synesthete may hear a piano and see the color yellow in their vision.
