|Must read Arc 1: Immortal, in order to understand what's happening in Arc 2!| "I won't know mercy." Phoenix's cold demeanor plagues Zavala. When she arrived from the prison she was... different. He couldn't tell if the rage and trauma had finally taken her, or if she was simply coping with the pain to follow. Either way, the stabbing thought of Phoenix being lost, unnerved the commander. He spent years watching over her and failing. When she finally began working alongside the vanguard, Zavala was relieved. Now, he's lost a member of his fireteam, and his relief is quickly vanishing. The Last City is mourning the loss of Cayde, and his lover Phoenix, who is immersed in grief and anger, has distracted herself with destruction. She plans to right the wrongs of the vile men who have ruined her. Top of the list is Uldren Sov. Will revenge truly make it better? Will Phoenix become so cold and hardened by her despair that she's lost to the life she once had with Cayde? Or will she fall further into the shadows to sacrifice everything to bring him back? Would Cayde even forgive her for everything she's done?

"You're not brave, you've merely forgotten the fear of death...Allow me to reacquaint you." The words wouldn't leave her head... Ghaul's mocking tone, the way he looked down at her like she was nothing but an ant beneath his boot with his eyes narrowed and stance radiating a smug triumph that made the Young Wolf grit her teeth and clench her jaw even days after the fact. His words though wasn't what caused her anger, even if they did send a pang of, something through her body. She ignored that (like she always did) and focused on the matter at hand for now, (for her feelings didn't matter; they never would.) Ghaul had invaded her home, the home of her people and captured the Traveler right from under their noses. He slaughtered her people, killed all who hadn't evacuated and he not once cared for the amount of innocent lives he took. The blood of men, women and children who just wanted to live in peace... He had killed all who stood in his way, and The Guardian hadn't been able to stop him from doing so... She had failed...she was right there before him and had fallen down on her knees, too exhausted to get back up and fight without her Light. (She was Weak...a failure...a coward...) The Titan could still feel the phantom pain coursing through her body in the aftermath of the attack, when she had woken up barely alive without her powers back in the city but now, sitting around her small camp as she finally took a break after days of walking that did nothing but fuel her anger. She'd find a way to stop the Red Legion, find a way to kill Ghaul with or without the Light even if it was the last thing she did. -OR: The Red War begins; The Young Wolf is pissed, never before has she failed like this, failed to protect her people but the Guardian is willing to do whatever it takes to make things right, even at the expense of her own health.
