Phoenix's cold demeanor plagues Zavala. When she arrived from the prison she was... different. He couldn't tell if the rage and trauma had finally taken her, or if she was simply coping with the pain to follow. Either way, the stabbing thought of Phoenix being lost, unnerved the commander.
