On a night in their seventh year, Draco gives Harry a kiss, but the next day he acts as if it never happened. A couple of years later, Harry feels lost and wonders what has become of his life. He is alone, depressed, and begins to think back to that strange night. What if things could have been different? What if he could have had something special now, if only he had made a different decision in the past?
What if he had accepted Draco's offer that day on the Hogwarts Express when they travelled to the school for the very first time? Could a handshake have given him a different future?

A/N: This is my very first fan-fiction ever, which I wrote way back in 2004, so the 6th and 7th books did not yet exist, and that is why certain things are different from the canon in this story. I have touched it up a bit and corrected some mistakes that had been made, but other than that I have decided to keep the story in its original state, since this is how 19-year-old me wanted it written.
