Six months have passed since Dean was dragged into the depths of hell. Four months have passed since Sam and Rose's break up.
Angry that the love of her life has turned to alcohol to cope with the older Winchester's death, Rose goes off on her own to avoid the same fate. She travels, hunts and looks for ways to get the man that has been like her older brother out of hell.
Soon, Rose is forced back with Dean and Sam after Ruby kidnaps her and forces her to watch Sam kill Lilith, starting the apocalypse. The trio now need to find a way to save the human race alongside their new ally, Castiel, while Sam and Rose do everything they can to find their way back to each other.
