The hospital room felt cold in a way that had nothing to do with the air conditioning. Y/n clung to her unconscious mother's hand, her sobs shaking through her entire body. None of it made sense-her parents were gentle people, bakers who spent their lives kneading dough and greeting customers with warm smiles. They didn't have enemies. They didn't live the kind of life that invited danger.
"I just don't understand who would do this!" she cried, voice cracking. "My parents don't have enemies-they work at a bakery, for fuck's sake. One they built with their own two hands."
The doctor hesitated before stepping closer, his expression uneasy. He handed her a tablet, and the moment the screen lit up, her breath caught. The CCTV footage showed a figure drifting through the hospital corridor-silent, slow, almost gliding. Dressed in dark clothing, face hidden, posture unnervingly still as they lingered outside her parents' ward.
A chill crawled up her spine. The figure didn't move like a visitor. They moved like a shadow.. so mysterious...
"It's... strange," the doctor murmured. "Whoever this is, they stayed outside the room for quite some time."
Later, sitting across from the police, Y/n tried to steady her trembling hands. Her voice was thin, frayed at the edges.
"I don't know who he is," she whispered. "He's just... so mysterious. He shows up out of nowhere, watches from the shadows, and disappears before anyone can get close."
Her eyes filled again, pleading.
"Please. Keep my parents safe. Keep *me* safe. I don't know what he wants... but he's not normal."
The officers exchanged uneasy glances.
Because even they could see it-the presence in that footage wasn't just a stranger.
It was something far more mysterious.
