Scrooge McDuck's Adopted Son

I never thought I was going to die. The doctors were confident I'd pull through, and so was I. But my chest seized up, and the world faded to black. I could hear the panicked voices of the doctors and the desperate screams of my family, their calls for my name fading into a distant echo.

Then it went dark.

A moment later, I heard the sound of rain and thunder. Wait, rain and thunder? I opened my eyes to a world that felt like an animated painting. In front of me stood a small, brown wooden door. A flash of lightning made me jump, and I let out a sound-a baby's gurgle.
The door creaked open, spilling light into the darkness. A tall, shadowy figure stepped out. And there, standing in front of me, was Scrooge McDuck.
