Lemon demon never infected them. You can only get the corruption if you do something bad.
The girlfriend, or as I call her, Abby, stole Garcello's cigarette pack whenever he died. One day whilst she was smoking, she started coughing, and coughed up the corruption. Pico got it from shooting people. Boyfriend, or as i call him, Cam [Short for Cameron],never got it. DD and MM got it from ruining people's lives. Its not contagious.
Abby had a fascination with Pico, eventually starting to have a crush on him. She broke up with the boyfriend, and the parents were happy about it. They were also fine with her dating Pico, since they personally thought he could protect her better.
