Afterlife holds all manner of beings: demons, imps, failed reapers with broken hearts.

Kameka Soul is the latter.

After failing out of reaper school and losing the love of her life, Kameka Soul's heart is all but broken. Spending her days laying on tear-stained pillows, she's quite sure that the world has forgotten her until a postcard presents itself in the mail. One that can talk.

This card leads her to the Folk and Kin, a retreat for the legendary creatures of Afterlife passed down through her family for generations. With the inn currently in the hands of her enigmatic grandmother, Kameka Soul is put to work fending off proposals from a headless old god, saving magical kittens from otherworldly rainstorms, and picking up cupcakes from a certain handsome weather witch.

Though sworn off of awkward flirting and surprise hand-holding, Gale Storm, weather witch and baker of sugary treats, helps Kameka break her pointless vow. And as the two draw closer, learning of each other's deeper wounds and helping to heal them, Kameka must make a choice: let go of an old flame, or be forced to throw water over a new one. For if she waits too long, the choice may no longer be hers to make.

Rebirth: (N): The process of being reincarnated or born again The Dead should stay dead. The Living should stay living. When a loved one dies, grief and sorrow immediately follows afterwards, but the world doesn't stop for your suffering and so...life moves on. However, it can be hard to move on with life when you're a vampire who has had the blame and hatred of seven other siblings dumped on you for a choice that would benefit all; simply because you were the eldest and most responsible. Nonetheless, this story doesn't start with our eldest vampire. Our story begins with a girl with long caramel colored hair, deep chocolate brown eyes, and a smile that seems to brighten the spirits of anyone who sees it; human or not. She was a girl that harbored seventeen years of age and she lived as normal a life as a seventeen year old girl could. Her name? Mayu. Surname? That's a mystery to Mayu herself. Many memories of her parents dying in some horrible accident occurred in the girl's mind yet no matter how much she thought about it, nothing seemed to quite fit right with her. So, never truly knowing her parents fate or current whereabouts, the young woman lived alone in her apartment complex just next door from her best friend Mahiru Shiroto. However, one day Mahiru takes in a small, homeless, black cat and names it Kuro. Mayu begins to take quite a liking to Kuro and, though she felt deeply bad about it, takes Kuro into her own possession as a cute and cuddly roommate of sorts. But how can one take a cat into their possession and not expect anything to go wrong...? Soon, Mayu's simple life will turn into an extravagant, thrilling one within mere hours and she'll suddenly find herself being hunted and a

Their mercy on me is you." ______________ While World War II is absorbed in its own devastation, a runaway slave stumbles upon a meadow. He is saved by a curious, lonely spirit and builds an affinity with her; but will he be her only salvation or eternal damnation? Either way, she can't let him go. And neither can he... as they're more similar than they thought. With unexpected gifts and losses coming their way, the starry-eyed lovers go on a journey for a sense of peace through a strange reality, a stark contrast to her own. The human world.
