Tommy was a big man. He didn't need friends! Really he didn't!
Friends were a weakness. One he didn't want to get wrapped up in, only to have them stab him in the back the moment he didn't have a use to them.
But when he meets a certain few hero's it takes a lot to resist their advances and suddenly Tommy's friend rule becomes harder and harder to stick to.

Wilbur was tired of being a hero. He liked to believe that he was a good hero, but being a good hero wasn't enough. It was never enough. Always compared to his twin brother, the golden child of the Minecraft Hero Family. Wilbur lived in Techno's shadow. He hated it so much and he wasn't sure how much more he could take. He wanted to be seen for who he was. He was Wilbur goddamn Minecraft, and he refused to let himself be a side note in someone else's story. Villains had one right; the right to choose a nemesis. A thesis to their anti-thesis. A rival. His subordinates always questioned why he chose Magpie. He never bothered to explain. He had met the hero once, and that was all it took. The eldest of the Minecraft children was so much more than anyone realized. There was a deep running fury hidden under his mask. The hero was fast approaching his breaking point. That, is why Quackity chose him. Wilbur Minecraft was going to fall soon, and he was going to fall hard. And Quackity would be right there waiting, ready to catch his songbird when he did. He watched from the darkness as police ran up the street, along with the people in white. No doubt looking for him and his brothers. He doesn't know why they're looking for them, they are only kids. But he knows his brothers were terrified, and stressed how important it was to stay hidden. Tommy held his breath as the people searched, ducking behind a dumpster as a flashlight beam swept across the alley. He poked his head out once he heard the sirens fade. His ears standing upright as he picked up on the faint buzz of his brother's wings. "I think they're gone for now." His other brother said, appearing a little ways away from him. "Why can't they leave us alone?" Tommy asked sadly. "Because we are free." Tubbo said. "This doesn't feel like freedom." "I know Tommy, one day we'll actually be free." Tommy's mother works in a lab. She and her coworkers work on researching hybrids. No one knows where they came from or why, but humanity wanted to know as much as possible about them and not for good reasons. One day, 8 year old Tommy had a sudden fever and his mother, not being able to find a babysitter or take off work, takes him with her. It Runs in the Family - SBI Hero AU
In the ""wise"" words of c!Ranboo, "choose people not sides." Sometimes, though, you have to choose a side. Tommy's lived in the same town forever, his two older brothers taking care of him and all the other crimes in the city as the top heroes after the death of their parents. From running around town with Tubbo (and maybe Ranboo sometimes) to skipping school (also with Tubbo), Tommy could probably take on the world as long as he had his best friend beside him. However, when you're assigned a side from birth, it's hard not to have enemies...... ~ ~ ~ Mostly Tommy's perspective, some angst so TWs will be listed at the beginning of those chapters. Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo are 17, Techno and Wilbur are 21, everyone else is up to your imagination. Updates every other day unless I forget. This is my first story!
