Fox knows very little about the prophecy. She knows that it says that a Watermander, a Forestmander, and a Firemander are going to save everyone from the Two-legs, but not anything else-including the fact that the three Ferretmanders have silver markings on their pelts-just like hers. She always just assumed her silver spot came from her father-according to her mother, he was a Watermander named Wave.
One day, a strange Firemander shows up, introducing himself as Volcano and saying that Fox is the Forestmander in the prophecy. Fox's mother, Doe, is overjoyed that her daughter is joining the peace movement, and gives up her son, too-Fox's little brother Beaver.
Fox meets the Firemander and the Watermander, as well as a few others. But she can't help but wondering-how can she be the Forestmander in the prophecy if she's only half Forestmander?
Elliot's partner was his whole world, but after Allan's death, his ghost haunts Elliot's dreams. Everyone tells Elliot to move on, but he isn't sure he can.
