Remus Duke is a user of magic - a warlock - in a kingdom of which it is illegal to be anything deemed "unnatural". After being discovered using magic, he is caught and held in front of the village for all to see. His trial, the sentence he will receive, is in three days, and with only 72 hours left he must find a way to prolong his life; But after catching the eye of one of the princes, he must also use these 72 hours to win his heart.

Janus 'Deceit' Sanders and Remus 'Duke' Sanders have been bestfriends since the split, though Janus acted as the responsible, adult one despite being the same age. His father is a scientist and inventor, and even though not all the villagers like Virgil he doesn't care.
