When Earth was created, it was built to home two major elements: Life and Death. To sustain both, to keep them alive and going for the many billion years to come, four other elements were created: Water, Fire, Earth and Air. The elements needed hosts to survive and keep the world safe, and so, the elementists were born. The first elementists were born with the planet, but every hundred years, a new host for each element was chosen.
One fateful day, years later, Death realized how much people worshiped Life and loathed the idea of dying. It was the way of the world, everything that lives must die to keep the balance between Life and Death, as both are equally important for civilizations to flourish; but people thought he was bad. That he was evil and wanted nothing more than to let Darkness rule the world. So he became what people thought he was. He was no longer Death, a welcoming friend after a good life spent; he was Death, the monster that came in all forms and took loved ones away.
When this happened, the whole purpose of Elementists changed and evolved. They now served the purpose of keeping Life safe from the much too eager hands of Death and his minions.

Soon it becomes apparent why: Mason is a werewolf. But when a fight turns into a sudden kiss that neither expects, Kieran's feelings for Mason turn to attraction in an instant.
