A small series of key points for California and Texas as they morph from barely tolerating each other, to lovers. Each chapter is its own bubble of time but all chapters are within the same timeframe. (Basically this means it's not a steady constant flow of time, it's just glimpses.)
A quick warning, there is some of what could be perhaps taken as internalized homophobic struggles (but not homophobia towards others) Also in my headcanon, in the Statehouse none of the States actually hate California, but they poke and tease at him because they don't realize that he genuinely thinks they hate him. As such, California has may have some darker thoughts due to his mental health.

Decades. He'd wasted decades of his life doing what? Chasing the minuscule sparks of passion to ease the aching void in his chest? Wasn't there something better? Someone to guide him away from the misery? Distract him from the life he couldn't escape from? There were days he didn't know which way was up and where the sea began. Where the skies collided with the dirt and delved into the inferno of the hells. The whispers of creatures that should have had no interest in a mortal caressing the shell of his ears. Beings he believed to be just as mortal as himself and if one observed their flaws they might have been. Walking the city grounds and sailing the oceans as easily as anyone. Blockades of fire and ice prevented their hands from intertwining. Now he balanced atop the wall. Grabbing both with shaky arms and keeping them close. Please don't leave. Fangs and claws used to claim him. Gentle kisses and caresses to calm him. Breathless words pulled him deeper into the madness. Further into inky darkness speckled with blinding light. Granting him everything he never knew he'd wanted. A dream come reality. Strange how love could spark from pain. How fickle. And how much he only wanted more. Lean on Us: NEW AND IMPROVED (LukaxAdrienxReader)
(A/N: This is essentially going to be a process of fixing + improving Lean on Us, a pre-existing fic on my page, as I'm not too happy with how it came out as the years go by. NOTE: There WILL be more spice in this one and probably more violence than in the original, but all spice chapters will be written to be skipped in the case you'd like to skip them, and TW will be added as necessary.) After Luka's painful pining experience over Marinette Dupain-Chang, he pretty much gives up on romance and prioritizes being there for the ones he loves and putting their needs above his own. He begins to attract attention as the band Kitty Section picks up some major traction, leading him to feel the need to repress any hurt he's feeling himself. As this happens, (Y/N) transfers into Marinette's class upon being adopted by their uncle due to the sudden death of their parents. (Y/N) is still moving on and dealing with the repercussions of their mother and father's passing when Juleka introduces (Y/N) to Luka at their band rehearsal. They form a strong bond and become fast friends- and quickly become something more- but how much more can they be in the chaos of suddenly becoming a hero on top of that? Adrien was a good boyfriend. He listened to what Marinette said about Luka and tried his best to keep his distance, ignoring what was becoming a wonderful friendship. After a series of unfortunate events, he finds himself single and gets a second chance at a real friend from (Y/N), much to Luka's dismay. What happens when this certain blond is thrown into the mix? Poisoned Symphony
Victoria Nilsen is pretty known for being a troublemaker in her school. The last problem she was involved in; an argument with another senior that ended up with her punching him two times, caused her a last warning. If she didn't start behaving, she would be expelled from the school. For a chance to redeem herself and also make up for low grades, Victoria is assigned to do a history assignment; but what will she do when her partner on this project ends up being the girl she's had a long rivalry with? Even though Amani Santos is recognized for her looks and attractiveness, it doesn't take from the fact she is quite popular for her intelligence, as she stays on the top of her class in almost every subject. Despite the fact her notes are almost perfect, there is one problem. She has been getting a lot of F's in history. It might not appear as serious for some, but Amani needs to get straight A's, knowing the consequences she would get in other cases. After talking with her history teachers about what she could do to compensate for her grades, she is assigned to do a project with Victoria Nilsen. Amani doesn't hate anyone, anyone but Victoria Nilsen. She's the only one capable of making her blood absolutely boil. What will happen after they are forced to not only aproach eachother, but also to work together to save both of their school problems? Will they continue their longing rivarly and finally see eachother as humans or maybe the hatred between them will grow even more?

She moved all the way from Maine to a small town in Nebraska just as her senior year began. Thankfully, she managed to make two friends on her first day, but everything has a downside, and this one was when the new friends shared a hatred for the girl that Heather found herself falling for. But who would have known that at a Valentine's party hosted by the most popular guy in school, she would've been kissed by that same girl who swears she hates every part of her?
