Tim Pivarnik has more than 12 years of experience in the education field. He is a very dedicated, loyal, and seasoned educator who is committed to improving the achievements of schools as well as students, he is associated with. While working as the Principal of Gary Middle College, he is dedicated to transitioning the college into a career readiness academy or a college by making strong partnerships with Ivy Tech Community College, Center of Workforce Innovations, Gary Area Career Center, and Hammond Career Center.
In addition to serving Gary Middle College, he is presently taking classes for EdS degree and school superintendent's license from Indiana Wesleyan University. When Tim Pivarnik was the Principal of Calumet High School, he was extremely appreciated by the Secretary of Educational “Arnie Duncan” and the Under Secretary of Education “Martha Kanter” in a meeting that was attended by 600 education and business leaders. Tim was acknowledged as a successful turnaround Principal by the Secretary of Education for his great contribution in the improvement of the education system of the school.
Owing to Tim's effort, this school was named as a Demonstration Site by the New Tech Network because of the accelerated and successful implementation schedule. It is a distinction that is generally reserved for 5 New Tech Schools in the state. He led the high from an 11th grade New Tech Model execution to a 11/12 New Tech implementation that was based on the success of 9/10 New Tech accomplishment.
His wife Tammy owns and runs her own court reporting business known as Tammy Pivarnik Professional Court Reporting. He has two daughters, out of which 1 is pursuing her 2nd year of law school at Valparaiso University and another one is married and is a 5th generation educator in their family.
