Noor is a single mother, living in London and working as a caretaker. Overworked and underpaid, she gives her best attempt at raising three of her five children: Jay, Mars and Iqra. Habibi and Abdi are both above the age of 20, and live alone.
One night, Jay catches Noor crying in her room. Noor, mentally deciding Jay is of age, tells Jay the story of her life, starting from when she was a young girl, to the present.
