After Layne's fiance, Demri, passes away, Layne finds a way out of the hole when he realizes the consequences of his actions. He is able to pick himself up and continue his love and passion for singing. Jerry is not so lucky. He's so far down in the hole that he gives up playing guitar and withdraws from everything and everybody, except for the needles.
