The file includes the case of the Vargas family's youngest daughter, Serena, and the murderer to this day is still unknown, despite the many suspects on the list. The girl decides she has a lot of free time, since it's summer break. She takes the case file from her dad's office and is set on solving the case. While uncovering mystery after mystery of the case and hitting a dead end- she sets out for the crime scene to hopefully get more clues. While there, she meets Atticus and he agrees to help her solve the mystery.
