Delilah Gellar is one of the most popular girls in school. Beautiful, sarcastic, not overly mean, and even dates a top athlete. She even does well in many subjects, except for English. Nearly halfway through junior year, her parents hire a tutor, someone she's very familiar with!
Ion (pronounced Ian) Bleaker is one of the smartest kids in school. So much so, that he's given the nickname Beaker, although his best subject is English and earns money from tutoring (I'm sure you see where this is going). He has no interest in popularity, simply going with the flow and enjoying life with his small group of friends.
To say things don't start off smoothly between the two would be a massive understatement! Delilah immediately worries what others will think of her needing a tutor, while Ion doesn't see it as a big deal. Once he discovers something about Delilah, it begins drawing them closer together.
